HECK TON OF CHEESY TEXT COMING IN. I WARNED YOU.

Wooooooow. This piece was a real pain in the arsenal. It's got quite the story behind it too!
Back when I still had one of those old desktop computers, I was getting the hang of first using my tablet. I often made lots of fanart, but I never made collaborative fanart of all these things I liked in one picture. So early on I started working on one of those cool video game group picture drawings with some of my favorite video game protags over the years! But wouldn't ya guess it. I ran into a lot of problems during the process of making this picture. These problems include 1. Lack of motivation (What's new? lol), 2. Losing my tablet pen and ultimately 3. My desktop pc finally gave in and crashed. And I never got to save my original picture. A sad day that was. Years later (Early/Mid 2016 to be precise), I brought this project back with heavy modifications and improvement! "But Whiskers!" you might say, "You started all the way back in 2016! Why didn't you finish it until now?" Funny thing. My lack of motivation slapped me in the face again. For the longest time, I tried to avoid finishing this due to the fact that I have little to no experience with backgrounds. That was literally the only step that kept me away from completing this. It wasn't until early April I decided to finally get the guts to take a risk in finishing this art piece. So here it is today! the ancient relic I finally completed!as much as I can lol
PHEW. Well there's a history lesson for ya on how this came to be! I actually added all these characters based on this history I've had with video games!

Mario: This is a no-brainer. The Super Mario series is my most favorite video game series today and has been for a very long time! This series holds a special place in my heart that no other series can replace. My experience with Mario games has always been a great one and I know it's not over yet.

Sonic: Plot twist, the first official game series I ever got into was Sonic the Hedgehog. It started with the original trilogy and Sonic Heroes. I hold so many fun memories with this series. For a long time, I've been absent in my interest with this series...Until today, that is! I can't ever be over this series, huh?

Rayman: This is somewhat similar to my experience with the Sonic series, but a little different! I have yet to play even the first game in the series, but I've had experience with the majority of the games in this series such as The Great Escape, Hoodlum Havoc, and Origins. This has pretty much been a series that stuck around for so long. Not as well known as others, but I love it dearly! I have loved it for a long time no matter how different it has become over the years. Also very big artistic inspiration comes from this series alone! I have to give Rayman a lot of credit to where I am with my inspiration today! (Also, this is my personal favorite background out of them all!)

Ratchet & Clank: I feel so bad for overlooking this series for such a long time. I got into Ratchet and Clank much later than I should have due to the fact that 1. I never owned any Playstation systems. and 2. I kid you not. My childhood self was terrified of this series for some odd reason. I regret being such a weird little kid and avoiding this series. My official time I got into it is right before I was reaching my teenage years. I am ever so thankful I did pick up my interest in this series. I have never regretted it. Ratchet and Clank is also another series that is responsible for a lot of my artistic inspiration! (If you couldn't tell, not a single heck was given about this background.)

Sly Cooper: This one holds a special place in my heart for a special reason! I would have never gotten into this series if it weren't for my best friend I still have today! This was a huge game in their childhood and they let me experience it for myself! It really is a game my childhood self would fall in love with (Ah, but the woes of having no Playstation). Not as well known as others, but I enjoy greatly for the fact of the memories I hold with it. We're making it a goal to complete the series even! We're roughly half way through considering we finished the fourth and third game.

Banjo-Kazooie: I was honestly about to finish up my drawing at the Sly Cooper mark, but I had enough motivation to add one more. It just so happen to be Banjo-Kazooie. Out of all the games I played, why the heck this one? Well lemme tell you, I didn't believe games as crazy and wacky as this existed until I discovered this game (And other games a lot like it like DK64! A favorite of mine still!). No matter how crazy this game is, it hits me right at home at what kind of crazy person I am. It's a colorful, goofy platformer that isn't afraid to express itself. I absolutely love it and remains a game I always go to if I have no idea what to play.
WOW. That was a mouthful, but there ya go! Brief video game history from your's truly! I wanted to add a lot more characters, but I can fit so many! Anyways, I hope you enjoy!
